Welcome To My Channel Greco Neyland, PC YouTube Channel. Today we will discuss about full orders of protection versus limited orders of protection.
Hey guys, there is a big difference in New York City with full orders of protection versus limited orders of protection. And most people, when they call us, they don't understand the difference. They understand only that there's an order of protection and they want the order of protection to be removed.
However, I would tell you in like 99.9% of these DV cases, the order of protection is not going to be removed. What will be entertained from time to time is a full order of protection will be reduced to a limited order of protection. The biggest difference is if you have a limited order of protection, that means that you basically can do everything you were doing with that person before the case was ever filed.
You can live in the same house. You can even sleep in the same bed. You just cannot violate any law and you cannot harass them.
You cannot assault them. You can't do anything that any normal person would be allowed to do or not allowed to do on any given day. So a limited order of protection is always the, I guess, the preferred path because it means for the most part, your life will be uninterrupted like it was before the case was actually filed.
